Me and my parents have been letting our cats out at night and in the day alone if they want to and they’ve always come back. However, I’ve only now realised how bad this is. We live in a space with a lot of greenery out the front and back, no predators to attack with allotments behind our garden which our cats go to sometimes. They’ve never ran away but that doesn’t matter, I should look after them better.

I looked this up and apparently they should be supervised, the problem is that I really don’t like the outdoors, hate it. I really don’t know what to and now this seems very worrying to me. What should I do?

I would tell my parents about the dangers and how it doesn’t make us look good but, from experience, I know they won’t listen. I love my parents BTW, but I know they won’t listen because they’ll think I’m just worrying over nothing since the cats have always come back. I wish they would listen, they love me and I love them but they won’t listen.
