Hello,

My cat (7 months) finds the vet and groomers to be a very scary event

I’ve noticed every time we come home from the vet she’ll start meowing like crazy, which is odd because she never meows

Today we had the groomers for the first time, she’s super fluffy so her butt needs to stay trimmed. She found everything very stressful and it was a whole ordeal trying to get her in the crate, an ordeal that landed my boyfriend with scratches all up his arms.

After she was home she slept in her little house in our bedroom, she’s not running away from us, but clearly wanted space. Just there she came into the living room with me and started looking at her crate and meowing (it’s on our dining table rn because she likes to sleep up high) . She likes to rest in her crate when it’s out in the open, so I’m not sure it’s the crate that’s stressing her, as she’s went to go for a nap in it after meowing up a storm.

I’m not quite sure what she wants when she meows (the only other time she mews is if I stop playing and she wasn’t done but thatll only be 1 quiet tiny mew) and I think she might just be sad. She’s done this one other time after her first vet appointment with us. At night when she was left alone she wouldn’t stop crying unless we were specifically in the living room with her (we led her to the bedroom but it HAD to be the living room)

My kitten HATES being touched, we think because she came from a hordes home that the only time she’s been touched by a human was for things like jags or exams so she hates it.

She loves company, and will often seek us out to sit in the room with us, but touching is a no go for her

She’s meowing right now, and to be fully honest I’m not sure what she wants or needs. I don’t want to go near her and possibly frighten her away, but I don’t think she just wants to be left alone

Any advice? I feel horrible knowing my baby wants something but can’t tell me :((
