Two years ago I set out to get a legal staff position at a big law firm and applied to a handful of firms. I’m now looking to get a better job at a new firm so I started applying again.
A recruiter reached out to me because they want to submit me for a job, which I agreed to. We spoke about when I can do an interview and that was that. About 10 mins later, while I’m on a work call, this recruiter calls me 4x in a row and I can’t answer. I thought that was super rude but I call her back. She asks if I’ve ever applied for a job at X law firm. I said probably I did two years ago. She said that’s correct … so I’m like okay … what’s the problem? She said she wants me to create a new email so I can show up as a new applicant. Is this suspicious? Isn’t the firm going to figure out I applied there in the past anyways? I don’t even recall this firm giving me an interview two years ago.
