Hej all
I’m trying to do some calculations to work out income tax, and I’ve seen two sources:
- Skatteverket Calculator here; and
- A very well known HR Calculator for various EU countries (including Sweden) here
These are returning different results for me. Obviously the Skatteverket one is the more reliable source (literally the most reliable) - but to ensure I haven’t overlooked anything - does anyone know why the other calculator shows a different result? I want to ensure there isn’t some weird reason why Skatteverket shows a lower amount, because it will mean an error in my calculations!
Thanks! :)

I’m not sure, but both calculators ask me to select my local Kommun (and Stockholm is on the list).

Hard to say without knowing the details. This one is better imo

Probably doesn’t include the Job Deduction or something like that.

I unfortunately don’t know what that is! Would you be able to kindly explain please? :)

It’s a tax deduction, something that other website might have missed.

Ahhh! What is this deduction for please? I’ve never heard of this!

It’s essentially a way of lowering the tax through a tax reduction (technically its not a deduction).

It’s a deduction for simply working.
