We got a kitten exactly a month ago when he was 8weeks old. He’s been to the vet, got his first set of shots and he’s scheduled for neutering in June.
He’s cute and cuddly, but our main issues are him climbing up on our dining room table and constantly slipping past us when we go out to the garage.
It’s a ton of stuff out there and it’s just not safe. Just this morning, he slipped past us and was under my car for a good ten minutes. I’ve considered keeping him in the basement (fully livable and functional), we watch movies and stuff down there often… but I’ve considered keeping him down there because of these things. We’re in and out a lot and I don’t want him slipping past us and roaming the garage.
Then the table thing… he’s doing it when there’s no food or anything on it… sure, he’ll try to hop up in the chairs when he sees us with food but he mainly gets on the table right after I’ve cleaned it which drives me mad!!
I know some people don’t mind… but I do not want him on my dining table! I got a tall cat tree and put it right beside the table to try and redirect him but it’s not working… he goes on the tree sometimes, but still will get on the table!
Any advice for any of this?
And lastly… what’s the best clumping litter? I want to get an automatic litter box soon so it must be clumping.
Right now, I’m cleaning the litter box twice daily and I still feel like I can smell something 😩
Thanks!!!
