I’ve seen this black cat in our garden a few times. We already have another cat from the neighbourhood who regularly visits us (we are in contact with the owner, all good) and sleeps over during the day. I caught both of them having a standoff a few weeks ago. Our door was open so the black cat slipped in and was being a bit nosy, smelling around and rubbing himself on our furniture. I got him out and our regular cat in until the black one left and we were able to release our regular cat so they wouldn’t fight.

Our regular cat visitor (I believe) got mad at me and was less affectionate towards me for some days. Whenever he visited he would always check all the rooms in the house to see if it was clear. Since then this black cat has come more and more. I love cats so much so I came over to him and gave him a lot of cuddles. He looks clean and a bit fat. Last night he came over for some cuddles so I pet him but I didn’t want to betray the trust of our regular cat so I didn’t let him in. Y’all he waited outside for 2 hours, meowed every time I looked at him (which was hard btw because it was dark and I could barely see his eyes glow!). This morning I opened one of our windows facing the garden and my partner immediately heard a meow. I checked outside and it was the black cat again! I gave him some pets again. He badly wants to get in, regularly meowing and crying but I can’t let him in again. Any advice? How should I handle this situation with the 2 cats?!? I think they’re both boys and our cat seems to hate the black one. The black cat has no collar too. Location Germany.
