We’ve had this cat and his brother come into our garden ever since they arrived in the neighbourhood. They would come into the house and eat our cats’ food (and terrify our cats in the process), and because they were super skinny, we started feeding them outside. We haven’t seen this guy’s brother in months, after we noticed his face was quite puffy and told his owners about it. No idea what happened (the owners weren’t concerned). But now this guy is round here every day begging for food. Our cats are scared to go past him, cause he will hiss at them. To us he is super sweet and we can pet him and pick him up. I’m not sure what to do in this situation. I feel bad for him, and I’m worried his owners don’t take good care of him, but how do I approach that with them? Not sure how to say “hey are you feeding your cat” without coming across like an asshole. But I don’t want to keep this semi-adopted state going either, for my own cats’ sake. Any advice would be much appreciated!!
