So I was speaking with a hiring manager about a job yesterday. The posting had a salary range about $30k wide (starting a little below what I’m making currently). However they had that little nugget I screen-shotted at the bottom of the job posting.
When I asked the manager about it (trying to be transparent that I couldn’t accept the role at the minimum in their salary range and I didn’t want to waste their time), they got really irritated with me and danced around the question and said they would look into it and get back with me. I doubt I will hear back from them.
Why would you even bother posting a salary range if you won’t pay anything above the minimum and you SAY so in they job posting?
