Had my Goldman Sachs Analyst coder pad round today , mixed experience honestly.

I was given 2 questions. The first one itself took around 40 minutes because the interviewer kept asking a lot of cross-questions and diving deep into every step. I was trying to explain my approach clearly, but it felt like I barely got uninterrupted time to actually code.

On top of that, there was a 5-minute power cut at my place, so I got disconnected briefly. When I rejoined, the interviewer didn’t really acknowledge it much and we just continued.

By the time we moved to the second question, only ~15 minutes were left. I tried starting it, but again with continuous cross-questioning and limited time, I couldn’t complete it.

What felt a bit off was the overall vibe , the interviewer seemed somewhat uninterested, which made it harder to stay confident and perform well.

Ended up getting a rejection mail later.

Not blaming everything on the situation , I know I could’ve managed time better but the experience did feel a bit rushed and uneven.

Curious if others have had similar experiences in such interviews where heavy cross-questioning impacts your ability to actually solve the problem?
