My cat’s littermate of 12 years passed a week ago. For the last week, she has become hyperactive, following me around everywhere, roaming the house yowling for hours a day, wanting to play and snuggle more. I’ve heard about cats becoming more lethargic when grieving, but has anyone experienced the opposite? She has never been apart from him for more than a day in the 12 years they were together. These are very drastic behavior changes from her laid back personality before her brother passed.
My other question is: how long do I give her to grieve before offering her more support? What are my options as far as supporting her aside from offering all the snuggles and playtime she wants?
TIA.
