My beloved boi (Isaac, 15.5yrs old, male) got a dental last week; they unexpectedly found a lesion on his tongue, so they cut it out and sent it off for testing. Results came back yesterday as malignant, so we have an oncology appointment next week.

He has no other symptoms but the lab work says his mitotic count is super high (18) and that lesions like this can mean median survival length of 83-90 days?! The internet says a mass on his tongue means it is already too late. Another friend volunteers at a cat shelter and said one of the cats had his tongue lesion cut out, he did chemo, and then was totally fine.

I am just sick to my stomach. I can barely eat, sleep, smile. I have never loved an animal so much; this is my son and we have been through so much together. He has had stones removed, kidney issues, he fights off anesthesia and is so fucking strong. My invincible pain-in-the-ass fluffy boi. I am so scared, and just seeking other experiences in similar instances. I haven’t dealt with cancer in an animal before.

Thank you in advance for any time anyone spends on this post. 🫠
