Just went through a triple round interview, in healthcare, the first two were scheduled for 15 mins and ended up going an hour because we had such good rapport and showing me around etc. The last one was with the Dr I would be working with and it seemed to go great another meet and greet that turned into an hour +.
So I think they want me, I WANT this job, I tell them what I’m currently making and we start negotiating and he says the phrase that instantly turned me off.
“Well we don’t start anyone off that high, if you prove to us you can then we can revisit it.”
Are they that disconnected from reality?
I would pick a pay cut and THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE MORE, with more work and more responsibilities, rather than just stay where i am.
And he was genuinely shocked, like SHOOK when I called and declined, like he couldn’t believe I would do such a thing.
People genuinely confuse me sometimes.
