I’ve had my cat, Darcy, since he was around 5 months old. He’s 2 now, and he’s been a strictly indoor cat ever since I rescued him, and I have never encountered a real mouse in my home.

Practically every time I open the pantry door, I find his mouse toys in there. He does like to bat his toys under open doors and then go around the other side to retrieve them, so I wonder if he likes the extra challenge of playing with a closed door. Or, does he somehow know that mice would be in the pantry, instinctively or from prior knowledge before I adopted him?

I love thinking about what goes on in his little head.
