Have been applying for jobs. Came across one from ENDELMAN FINANCIAL ENGINES. Was asked if I had a Zoom account. Completed a “job interview” from a TALENT ACQUISITION OPERATIONS ANALYST through Zoom chat and “HUMAN RESOURCES”. Should have been my first red flag.
They asked some questions from me initially:
-
What type of jobs have you had?
-
How did you get your previous jobs?
-
What were your main responsibilities? Achievements?
-
Have you been in the military before?
-
Are you currently employed?
-
Do you have a HP laser-jet printer, copier and scanner?
-
Are you seeking employment in a company of a certain size?
-
How long do you intend working for this company?
-
How would you like to be Paid? Weekly/Paycheck or Bi-Weekly/Direct deposit.
-
What’s the name of the bank you do operate with to see if it tallies with the company’s official salary payment account ?
-
Are you seeing a Full time or Part time Position ?
-
Tell Us why you feel you are the right person for this Job?
Then after being “accepted” for the job. They mentioned they would send me an Apple MacBook Pro Laptop (2025) but I would need to purchase a software from a third party vendor that I would need to purchased with with my personal funds. I would although be “reimbursed” my funds and receive “a sign up bonus we give to every new employee”. The software was ABAK_IGPS TRACKER 365 MANAGER and was supposedly $215.00 and to be purchased from the shipping agent but would be sent to me via FedEx/USPS along with a W-4 form within a 48 hour delivery period. They said they would notify the vendor on my purchase and provide them my address for delivery. I would also be provided a tracking number. Once I said I would have to consult with my family for them to approve of this larger purchase, they asked me “what large purchase?” and said “I don’t understand you” Then when I requested a phone number to reach them by they said, “I’m available on here [Zoom]. Where are you heading to? When will you be back?”
Needless to say all of the work I put into this “job interview” is depressing. Don’t make the same mistake! But, wow, scams are so in-depth these days be dilligent.
