currently 2am and genuinely cannot tell if i’m bad at this or if this is just how it is now
laid off in october. cs degree, 3 years exp, not trying to be a senior engineer at google, just want a normal job that pays normally. thought i’d find something in a month. lol
700 applications. 11 callbacks. 4 interviews. 0 offers.
rewrote my resume three times. spent hours on cover letters. started applying to roles i was overqualified for. nothing changed. not even a little bit.
what i think actually killed me is timing and consistency. by the time i found a posting, looked into the company and applied - it had been up for 2 weeks and already had 400 applicants. recruiters don’t scroll that far down. i was basically applying into a black hole every time.
and i cannot stay consistent to save my life. some weeks i apply to 30 jobs. other weeks i can’t open my laptop. the burnout is real and nobody talks about it enough
the rejection i got was for a junior role i was overqualified for btw. they went with someone with “more relevant experience.” ok
anyway if anyone has actually cracked the code on staying consistent with applications lmk because my linkedin easy apply finger is tired and i’m running out of ideas
