Hi everybody, I have a problem. My cat has been quite down and weak after going to the vet multiple times

For context

2-3 days ago, I saw my cat was vomiting and eating less, he was still active and happy but I took him to the vet to check, they told me that he probably had gastritis and when doing an eco, they diagnosed him with fatty liver so they asked me to take him again to get a blood test the next day.

Again he woke up, and he was normal, obviously the vet visit is always traumatizing for cats but he seemed fine after the first visit. So I took him again, they did a blood test and he came out with glucose really really high and the vet said there may be a possibility of him being diabetic (apart from the fatty liver and stuff).

So the routine for the last 2 days have been giving him insulin and monitoring his glucose levels, I am basically taking him 5 times a day to the vet on their request.

The problem, after the first blood test he is being exhausted, he is struggling to walk and barely being able to stay awake, he is not the same cat he was 2 days ago.

I get it is due to the stress of being at the vet so many times and getting so many blood tests and getting so many injections, but part of me wants to ask the vet to just let him rest for a day. Seeing my overly affectionate and playful cat breaking like this, it’s killing me and I want to see if maybe one day without vet visit could make him recover a little , could make him become a little more active again.

For 2 days straight, I’ve been thinking I will wake up to him not breathing and it makes me doubt if all these tests, all this was a good idea and not something that it’s actually making him feel worse.

Anyway , this post was part asking for advise and part letting my feelings out because I needed to tell someone. It’s not me asking for medical advise but just asking if someone else experienced something like this and tell me their opinions and experiences. Sorry for the bother.
