We took our cat for an abdominal ultrasound Monday because his bloodwork showed signs of chronic inflammation l. Turns out his intestines are slightly inflamed, probably due to slight food allergies. We took him off the dry food and put him on hypoallergenic wet food because his teeth are also kinda bad (he’s an old man, we got him from the shelter about a year ago). Since he’s come back from the vet, he has started taking a big bite of food and running off to chew and swallow it. He’ll eat his whole meal like this and we have to watch over him the whole time because our other cat will try and steal his food while he’s away chewing. He’s had this wet food before and he loves it, and this behavior didn’t start until after the vet visit. Amy idea why he’s doing it now?
