hi guys!

im going to be moving in with my boyfriend soon. he lives in another state, and we decided he will be flying to me and we will drive my car to his place (so i can bring my stuff + my car + my cat)

im going to be taking some precautions to keep my kitty as comfortable as possible, so please let me know if there’s anything more i should do!!!

im going to keep his litter available at all times for him. im thinking of mostly keeping him in a harness and maybe on my lap so he’d feel more comfortable, and bringing a soft blanket for him to sleep on. i’ll also be bringing some wet cat food so he’ll be more inclined to eat rather than if it was dry food. i’ll do my best to keep water available for him too.

in the past he’s taken a couple of hour-long rides and he didn’t seem to mind them much. he would sit on my lap or in his little carrier thing (that i no longer have) and kind of chill/feign sleep or try to look out of the window.

is there anything (over the counter) i could possibly give him to keep him calm if needed? there will be the added stressor of my boyfriend being there, and while i know he won’t attack bf, i want to let this be as stress free as possible. also, should i be letting him outside during bathroom stops and such? he doesn’t like being outside at all as far as i’ve tried with him.
