I interviewed for an analyst role at a large North American home improvement retailer about a month ago. I’m also an internal candidate.

After the interview, the hiring manager said he’d get back to me within two weeks. When I followed up after two weeks, he set up another chat with me earlier this week (Monday). In that call, he talked about salary and told me to “sit tight” while things get finalized.

He didn’t clearly say that I got the job, so now I’m overthinking a lot.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Does this usually mean I’m close to getting the offer, or is it still unsure?
