I’ve put up with it for a long while. He likes to meow and pull at the door handle if he needs to go to the bathroom, which is fine. I’m willing to stay up for a few minutes so he can go to the bathroom, get a drink of water, whatever. But I switched his food, because he scarfs down dry food and throws it up 5 minutes after, no, a slow feeder doesn’t work because he will literally flip it over, yes, I’ve also tried weighted slow feeders. I feed him 3 times a day, yet he wakes me up at 1 AM when I have to go to work at 3 am. He gets fed around 5 pm usually, before I sleep. But lately, I’ve been staying up late JUST to feed him around 9 pm, and he STILL gets me up at the same damn time. If I put dry food out, I can’t put out much, otherwise he throws it up, and he STILL throws a fit acting like he’s starving when he’s clearly not. I try to set a boundry of don’t wake me up unless you actually need something, but he still does it anyways. I’m to the point where I’m getting sick and tired of him and thinking about seriously returning him to the shelter. It’s affecting my mental health and my sleep severely. I’m just at that point. Don’t give me a sob story of “oh don’t do that to him” please ACTUALLY contribute some ideas. Don’t give me sob comments. If you don’t have useful ideas, don’t bother to even comment.
