Hey everyone, I wanted to drop a quick warning about a highly suspicious internship listing currently active on Internshala, and share my rather frustrating experience trying to get their support team to care about our data privacy.
As students actively applying for roles, we hand over highly sensitive information (phone numbers, addresses, academic histories) via our resumes. Because of this, I usually run a quick background check on unverified companies.
I recently found a listing for a Data Analyst Intern offering a surprisingly high stipend (₹26,000 - 27,500) from a company called “Superwork.in”
Here are the massive red flags I found:
- Zero Employees: Despite their website claiming to be “India’s Number 1 task-based workforce,” their Linkedin has absolutely zero employees.
- Ghost Socials: Their Instagram has 1 follower. Their YouTube has 0 videos. Not exactly the footprint of a “national leader.”
- Impersonation: They seem to be using a name almost identical to the legitimate HR tech company, Superworks.com, likely to borrow unearned credibility.
- And their YouTube too, has 0 videos & posts and have 1 subscriber.
To me, this looks like a classic data harvesting shell company setup designed to collect thousands of student resumes to sell our PII (Personal Identifiable Information) or use it for future phishing scams.
I proactively emailed Internshala’s team with all the screenshots, asking them to do a basic KYC audit on the employer or take the listing down.
Their response? They refused to act. They told me to share screenshots of my “conversations with the employer.” When I explained that I was reporting them before getting scammed to protect the community from data harvesting, they replied:
Essentially, Internshala’s policy is completely reactive. They won’t suspend a clearly fake, zero-presence company until a student actually gets scammed and reports a chat log!
TL;DR: Do your own due diligence before hitting apply on Internshala. Do not trust that a company is vetted just because it is on the platform. Protect your resumes and data, and watch out for “Superwork” (Superwork.in).
P.S: I did not find an evidence that justifies the originality of the company, If someone do find, then please do comment under this post, and if “a genuine employee works there” prove your originality by showing is that you are a registered company, and justify why you have 1 follower on Instagram and YouTube, and why does your company has no associate employees on linkedin?
If you do have the proof, justify it, and make this post worthless!
Scammers Linkedin Profile - They did post jobs here as well !!
