Neutered my cat 2 months ago and unfortunately he managed to lick the incision even with a cone on which led to infection 3 days later and was boarded at the vet for daily flushings. Because of the infection he was given antibiotics and anti inflammatory for about 10 days if I remember correctly. Around day 6-7 of antibiotics he had diarrhea and would regurgitate after eating. The anti inflammatory and antibiotic that was given apparently can cause this so the vet said to stop giving them. Vet took stool sample to check and said theres no parasites but the bacteria is imbalanced. Gave probiotics and kaolin to help firm up stool first. That was a month ago. Regurgitation or puking stopped after we stopped the anti inflammatory. Wet poop stayed. He would have solid poop if we feed kibble only but wet food makes his poo soft.

Now im looking up cat sensitivities to food and read that cats can develop allergies to certain proteins after surgery like chicken and that i should change to pork, rabbit, duck, etc for a few months to rule out allergies. He acts normal, has his big appetite still, still plays, not losing weight. Basically his normal self. Did anyones cat get allergic to certain protein after surgery? We already saw the vet but i would like to see some owners stories and stuff too
