I am seeking some positive encouragement for the recent suspected diagnosis of IBD. My cat has been acting her normal self, running around, being crazy, and loving to everyone she meets but I noticed she appeared smaller than her usual weight and more frequent vomiting of food vs clear/hairballs. I switched food and after that didn’t work I went to the vet. All her bloodwork was healthy other than the indication of suspected IBD(I forget which criteria this is called). She received a B-12 shot and I was advised to treat with a daily steroid and transition her food from Royal Canine sensitive stomach to their Royal Canin Feline Ultamino Dry Cat Food which will arrive in a few days. She goes next week for an additional B-12 shot. I also have 3 other cats and likely will be transitioning them to this new diet as well. I’ve fed them once a day Fancy Feast Broths so will need to find an alternative to supplement hydration. Should I feed them boiled chicken with natural broth? I unfortunately looked to some research and saw/heard awful stories of cats not being responsive and essentially wasting away. My cats are my entire world and I will do everything in my power. I prefer to not put her through surgery if I do not have to. Please help. It’s been a stressful last few years after a 2 year long contested divorce and I just want to rebuild my life.
