I was interviewing with two companies and just got an offer from one of them and signed it. For the second one, it was going to be project-based/part-time. I had a first call, then they asked for references. I followed up, but they didn’t reply, so I assumed they didn’t want to move forward. After a week, they messaged me saying they want to move me to the final stage, which is a 3-hour test assignment. They will give me the task on Zoom, and then I have 3 hours to complete it. It’s a small startup agency in the States and I’m based in Canada.

Although I’m excited for this opportunity, I feel like 3 hours are a lot of my time for a task that I don’t even know. They specifically reached out because they like my portfolio, so I don’t know why they need a test. Should I give it a try or tell them I found a job? Not sure how to move forward.
