Am I being utopian? I’m waiting for the day we actually have laws with teeth to put an end to this systemic craziness.

These companies are posting ghost jobs 24/7 while people are literally starving for a paycheck. They put you through 5, 6, sometimes even 9 rounds of interviews just to hit you with a generic rejection.

They force you to put your graduation year on every application as a back-door way to enforce ageism. If you’re “over a certain age,” they’ve already binned your resume before a human even looks at it.

They expect “take-home assignments” or “trial runs” that are nothing more than extorted free labor.

I get that people are desperate, but how are these companies allowed to get away with these unethical, predatory practices? It’s time we stop playing their games and start holding them legally accountable for the time and labor they steal.
