This is my girl Nixie, she’s 13+ years (we dont know her exact age except that she was with the rescue for 2 years, and was an adult by then, and I’ve had her for 10). She normally very soft, and an immaculate groomer. Shes starting to display arthritis signs and is on something to help with that, but her dark spots around her tummy keep felting something fierce.
I say felting because thats what its doing. Those fibers are a different texture than her white parts for some reason and if you look at them they look wavy exactly like sheep fibers do when you shave them.
Should I bother taking her to a groomer? Shes never been her whole life. Or should I just keep on just trimming them out when I find them?
If i should take her to the groomer what kind of cut should I ask for? I feel a lion cut would make me so sad to see, especially because sanitation wise shes still cleaning herself well. Its literally just those spots.
