Long story short, boyfriend of 5 years got caught trying to cheat (which is still cheating) & I broke up with him. I tried to forgive and work through it, but deeper fundamental issues prevailed and now my decision is final. However, our lease ends in October, it’s currently April, and we have two cats together. I am wondering how to go about it to make it easier for them since they are siblings and grew up together. Dont intend to split them up, but would they be depressed without one of us there?

If I take them, it would be too much of a financial strain and I wouldn’t be able to have them unless I live on my own, hence the strain.

If he takes them, I’m worried they won’t be taken care of properly at his mother’s house as his family has historically just been careless and doesn’t even remember to feed/let out the dog they currently have. I don’t want my babies to have a bad life but also don’t want to put more strain on myself financially given the situation.

Please any advice would help - I do not want to give them away either but don’t know what to do.
