Howdy y’all, I’ve had cats my whole life and am totally stumped by this. We have 6 cats, 3 boys 3 girls. All inside cats with the exception that we have a catio. The other day a random tom cat strolled up to our catio and started harassing my girls. We chased him off after our girls started to fight eachother, it was the end of it I thought. Everyone came inside, calmed down, got love.

Fast forward to 5 am 2 days later. I’m awoken to growling and yowling. My 3 girl cats are at it again. We are inside, no catio access. Before this I have never ever had a major problem with them fighting. I’m not annoyed more so I am worried. Several factors aside from that tom cat are, we’re moving houses, so a lot of our “safe” hiding spaces are gone. I got a new dog who mainly only bothers the boys but she hasn’t grasped the fact that my girl cats don’t quite like her, and we had just painted our rooms so maybe that. I’m really not sure what the problem is and I’m pretty worried.

Any advice is helpful, ages of the girls are 8,5, and 1. All three of them were equally yowling at eachother and also at the boys. The boys were not yowling.
