I used to work at a well known company. I left a few years ago. They transferred this guy from HR to be the head of “transformation” in the division. He claims to have built the department which actually had already existed. his profile he claims to have cut $1bn (yes, a billion) in operating costs in three years. There’s no way. The company has been cutting costs like a fire sale for the last ten years. By the time he even got to his role, there was hardly any meat on the bone left. Adding to the rich fragrance of the bullshit is that he claimed to do this as a senior director. Someone at that level would simply have never had that kind of authority. Ironically, if he’d listed that he saved $10mm it would have been impressive and no one would have thought less. But a billion? Cmon now. Even private equity won’t buy the company because it’s in such bad shape.
