I am interviewing for a role and learned that the company is using Truv to do background check. Evidently Truv requires giving access to all payroll systems at the companies you worked at in the past, so they will know not just your employment history but how much you made and a lot more. I found this extremely intrusive to the point of wanting to withdraw my application. It is one thing to verify if I worked somewhere and a different thing to know exactly how much I made, did I get a severance when I was laid off and how much was it? Etc. not to mention potential for security breach and soon that data can be searched online. What do you all think?
