We have four cats. 2 girls, 2 boys. The boys will be two-years-old next month (same litter), our young girl will be two-years later in the year, and our older girl is six-and-a-half. Our old girl is the most recent. We did slow introductions. Separate food/water and litter in our room while the others kept their stuff out. We’d slowly start letting them smell and see, and eventually started letting the old girl out with the others. She hisses, she swats, she growls. The others don’t really do anything back other than the occasional swat if she does, but they’re just curious and want to get to know her. One of our boys literally rolled onto his back near her when we first let her out. We’ve had her since December and we try and let her out often to get her accustomed to the others and the rest of the house, but she still is acting somewhat hostile. Will this stop? We really would prefer not to constantly have her locked away in our room, because it also keeps the others from being able to come in. But I also don’t want to risk us letting her out when we’re not home and an actual fight happening. And obviously, we don’t want to get rid of her. She is incredibly cuddly and loving, and she is so sweet to us. I’m just not sure what else we can do except keep putting her out with the others. Any advice? Thank you!
