I’ve heard a lot advice saying to play with cats before feeding to imitate their hunting patterns. However, ever since he was a kitten my cat would ignore all toys until after he has eaten. I would wave the wand toy, put out silvervine sticks, etc and he would ignore them and either stare out the window or wait by his food bowl, and eventually after his dinner time and he gets fed, he would respond to the same exact invitation to play as before.
My question is: is this healthy or anything of concern? I see him jumping and running around with essentially a full belly of wet food, and was wondering if there’s any adverse health effects / mental effects to not following biological hunt-feed patterns
