Milo here is male, 6 years old, has been neutered and never displayed spraying behaviors. But for the last ~48 hours, he has been making very frequent, very brief trips to the litter box. He wags his tail back and forth and raises his butt high up, then leaves without covering most times. Each time I check, there’s either a small stream in the litter box, or a small circle above the size of a nickel, but not what looks like a full urination.
He will make a few nearly back to back trips to the litter box, then he will be normal for several hours- playful, energetic, sweet and cuddly, etc. He is eating and drinking normally so far. He is also licking his bottom area more than usual, he’s really fluffy and kinda big so I’m not 100% sure what he is licking at.
Does this sound like a urinary issue, or is it some kind of spraying behavior? My wife and I haven’t witnessed a full urination from him over the weekend since we started noticing this behavior, it’s possible he went overnight but we have 2 cats so this could have been the other one.
As a precaution, we got him some medication (Homeopet UTI +) and have given him a few doses, no changes yet, the soonest we can get him to the vet is Wednesday.
