I was interviewing for a Senior Backend dev role at a fully remote company. It was Hiring Manager round.

After the round, I got rejection mail. It had feedbacks on my performance. It mentioned I had very good debugging skills for a senior engineer I role, but I did not ask the right set of questions when given the opportunity at the end of interview.

My question:

Your employee handbook (they gave this in mail) mentions that employees are eligible to be evaluated for promotion after 12 months of experience in same position. Does prior experience in same position counts or only work experience in this company counts towards this 12 month period.

I have 8+ yoe and was curious to know if all goes well, would I be able to be jump to next level or not. Curiosity killed my chance to get into the company.
