Hi all!

It’s been a long 8 hours for me. I came home and saw my fur baby was struggling to use the bathroom. I was alarmed because he kept going into the litter box and nothing was coming out. Thankfully I’m a helicopter mom and i’ve done a ton of research on cats so I knew something was wrong and took him to an E-vet.

$1850 later and it was a urinary blockage as I had assumed. I could not afford to leave him at the E-vet for $8000 so I took him home. The vet did warn me that he could potentially block again. The vet did give me samples of prescribed wet food and other medications.

For those who have experienced blockage in their male cats, what did you do to prevent it from happening again? Did it happen again? and I’m open to any suggestions. I could barely afford the $1850 to get the procedure done and I’m terrified that it may happen again. Any advice or tips are recommend and strongly appreciated. My baby is a year and 10 months and is truly my entire world.
