This is Aioli, and disclaimer, I love her no matter what!

My boyfriend and I brought this little girl home last week, and according to the shelter, she is 4 y/o. But she is very small, about the size of an 8 - 9 m/o kitten and only about 8 lbs. That is not the “problem”, though I wonder if the shelter had the right age. That’s a different thing though.

From the moment we brought her home, she was not scared or shy; she was in fact, incredibly clingy. Like, immediately slept on both of our chests and hasn’t let either of us out of her sight when we’re home amounts of clingy. Additionally, she ALWAYS is ‘talking’. Very rarely is she not meowing at us in some form, and sometimes she will do it in her sleep.

She likes to have her face in my face in particular, and no amount of petting makes the cuddling and talking stop. She wakes me up at all hours of the night, meowing and putting her face in mine, and it’s only through the afternoon that she sleeps. She is always purring either way, though.

I’ve had cats for the better part of a decade and never had one like this. I’m starting to worry that maybe she’s in pain? It would appear that the shelter spayed her recently, but there’s no signs of infection. She eats happily, drinks plenty of water, and has plenty of energy to play.

Is there something wrong with my cat or is she just uniquely chatty?
