hello i (23f) have two kittys myself, and i found a sweet orange little girl cutiepie cat while i was going to work at 3AM. I was able to get her into a kennel and take her with me, found her a place for the night (that person couldnt keep her but could help temp) but i found someone else who i think is perfect for her. so all and all to say: found kitty, harbored kitty, (she had a dropoff time for the humane society but i got to cancel it! yay) and helped her get the basic things she needs and just passed her off to her new family.
it makes me want to cry! it is i think the closest feeling is looking at my parents after graduating college. i thought it was just plain wrong that that kitty girl was in the street possibly to be hit or hunted any day. the fact theres so many stray cats and dogs who deserve to be loved and we as people just say “yeah theyre a stray :/“ is negligent. i was happy to not be complicit yet again and actually change it. even one kitty at a time.
wondering now if i can somehow make a job out of that. making sure each kitty get a home and goes to people with the basic items or helping them get access to ESA certifications (ikik yaydadayda you cant just buy an esa but idc the renting market sucks, beat them at their own game! and i pay an esa fee to my psych anyway whats the diff)
TLDR found a cat, someone wanted her (no microchip) and i am happy. can i make a living off giving people their pets? but also i wouldnt want to charge anyone, just would want them to be a good fit and you would get the pet you applied for and a ___ starter kit with things theyd need. i know the answer is no but i feel like there are professional dnr people???
essentially brainstorming to reddit. all thoughts n ops welcome.
here is the kitty girl that i found, her new owner is calling her ruth from fried green tomatoes
