Update from this previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/cats/comments/1qov6yd/recently/_got/_a/_bad/_batch/_of/_purina/_fancy/_feast/
TLDR of original post: The fancy feast I bought from Chewy back in December would make one of my cats vomit immediately after consumption. Other cat refused to eat it. Food had a horrible metallic smell to it. I’m not the only one who has had issues.
Communication with Purina and their third party agent Sedgwick has been slow and unhelpful at best. They finally sent me a mailer to send in samples for testing a few weeks ago. I got a call back from the Sedgwick rep working on my case today and found out they didn’t do any actual testing or analysis. When I pushed back several times about chemical analysis, testing, or checking for contaminants they kept giving vague answers and wouldn’t say anything else. From what I understand they basically just checked the smell and consistency of the food to verify my complaint.
Obviously since the incident I have stopped feeding my cats Fancy Feast. As far as I know my cats are ok but I need to talk to my vet later this week. I have reason to suspect there may be larger issues with Purina’s food, but I don’t have proof of that. I will not be purchasing any Purina or Nestle products in the future as I don’t have any confidence in their quality control.
Overall this has been my experience so far. Thankfully I still have plenty of unopened cans for evidence if I need to take things further.

If you think your food is bad best thing to do is contact Purina, the place you bought it from, and file a complaint with the FDA. https://safetyreporting.fda.gov/smarthub#/pet-food
