Ive had my 2 cats for over a year and we’ve been through 3 moves together. My orange boy is very outgoing and affectionate and my Grey girl is introverted but also very affectionate. She’s always been standoffish and cautious of new people but has been confident with me, being her person. After our recent move almost a month ago she’s been running away anytime I approach her (not even to get to her, just moving in her direction or anywhere near her). She still will cuddle, kneed on me, rub on my hand for pets anytime I’m sat or laying down and sleeps with me in bed. But she’s super on edge anytime I move. I figured it was her adjusting but its never lasted so long before (or even been this bad) and its getting frustrating. Usually she just hides for a period of time and then comes out of her shell after adjusting. Im just concerned for her mentally and emotionally. It makes me sad. I want her to feel safe and not like she has to run from me.
I have always given her her space and only give her attention when she asks for it (shes like a dog when she wants attention. Shoving my hand with her face and rolling around for me to get the right spot and drooling when its a good scratch). The only times she doesnt run from me now is when im approaching with her meal.
I do have dogs as well but she’s use to them and will cuddle with them as well. (She does not run from the dogs. It is only me.)
