So I have been living in a different country from my childhood cat for a few years now and will be in this country for the foreseeable future. I am now in a flat there where I could potentially bring her over to live with me. Getting the paperwork is not an issue. The only issue is she is old (~19 years) and currently lives in my old country with a parent who is a vet. I want to have my cat here with me since I don’t get to see her in person much anymore and miss her so much. But I also believe that health-wise it is probably better for her to stay with my parents and our other cat (since they can stay more on top of any health issues she faces and that’s an environment she is comfortable in). But at the same time every time I call home she always comes in front of the screen to hear/see me and loves the few times I’m able to visit, so I know she would be happy to be here with me and misses me too, but I don’t know if the travel/her health is worth that risk due to her age/access to vet. It is hard not seeing her, but the risks of both decisions make me unsure what is best. Any advice or anyone go through a similar decision?
