i have two very active kitties and they love going outside on a harness and leash. we go on walks almost daily. Theyre less destructive just very energetic. But they have this peeing problem where they think the litterbox is optional. i originally thought it was the size of the box so i went from just 2 regular boxes to those 2 regular boxes and 1 xl box. it didnt change then peeing outside the box thing, so i thought it was a cleanliness thing and even though i was cleaning it out religiously i thought maybe they wanted it clean each use, so i got an automatic litterbox to replace the large box, they love it, theyn almost primarily use the automatic box and ignore the smaller boxes, so i cut it to just one smaller box cuz its a small space were living in. but they pee beside the autobox, or on laundry, or in the bathtub, or on any piece of fabric that isnt the carpet. i dont know what to do, when i see them pawing at a spot thag isnt the litterbox i simply put them in the nearest box and they hop out and its a whole cycle. how can i train them to solely use the litterbox?
