I had my third round interview last week which was a peer review. These are often my favorite and easiest of the interviews and usually require sharing my work via screen share. Of course during the interview Google wouldn’t allow me to share and there was no way to fix permissions (like how do you even do that on the spot?). If you are able to fix them, Google requires you completely restart the program, thus ending the call. It’s outright horrible. Anyway, for a short 30 min call, that can really throw you off. I was able to keep composure and send links to my work after the call, but it was unfortunate that I could not present it myself during the call. My sister who works for a big startup as Chief of people (HR), she said that even though it wasn’t my fault they would have dinged me for that. I informed her that she should not do that in the future as that’s a great way to lose perfectly great talent.
