Had what seemed like an easy time setting up an interview for a low pay, low hours job over email. Time, date and place confirmed. Great! I walked in and greeted the person at the front desk, who told me the interviewer isn’t in today and they should have just sent me an email to reschedule (I never got one). She called the interviewer who reiterated that he sent me an email about an hour before the interview asking to reschedule. I checked again in front of them, no email. After the interviewer hung up, the front desk person told me she wasn’t surprised I never got the email because the interviewer is known for lapses in communication and leaving emails in their drafts. Sent home without an apology, told ‘they’d reach out’, and still haven’t! I don’t think I’ll be rescheduling with them because of the egregious lack of professionalism and I really went to email the interviewer a JPEG of the Anne Hathaway HR lady meme.

Who reschedules an interview an hour before it happens? I get emergencies happen, but this is someone with a history and a pattern of ghosting, and I can’t imagine how mad I’d be if I’d come from further away!!
