Hi everyone,

I had an interview today for a program/data-related role at a nonprofit, and I’m really confused about how it went.

Right after the interview, I actually felt pretty good about it. The conversation lasted around 40+ minutes, they asked several questions, and even took time at the end to explain the role in detail. The overall tone felt warm and engaging.

But a few hours later, I keep replaying everything and now I feel like I completely messed it up. My main concern is my communication. I felt like I was searching for words at times and not expressing my thoughts as clearly as I wanted to. Especially in the beginning, I think I stumbled a bit. I also worry that my English didn’t come across as strong as it should have.

That said, I did answer all their questions, gave examples from my experience (data systems, coordination, etc.), and the interview didn’t feel rushed.

I’m just not sure how interviewers usually perceive this — does occasional hesitation and word searching make a big negative impact, or is it normal? Would really appreciate honest opinions.

Am I overthinking this, or does this sound like a weak interview?
