Hello I have a cat who is approx 7 or 8 years old. I adopted DK (Dock Kitty) when the business I work for closed down for Covid. I also have a Jorkie named Micah who is 10 years old. While DK was very affectionate but took a her while to accept the dog. Before bringing her home and put out posts and ads trying to find her people, without any luck. I think she somehow got list because she had been spaded. But she isn’t my problem. I often give treats to the neighborhood dogs and cats. Their parents are aware of it and fine with it. My concern is one of my regulars brought a new cat to my house. The cat looks about 6 months old. At first he was very skittish and would run if he saw me. But watching me feed and pet his sponsor, he got up the courage to come to me and let me pet him. Now he lives here, outside. I don’t mind but I can’t bring him inside because DK would have seven kinds of a fit, so he must stay outside. When I feed him he just devours the food. One of my neighbors border collie was just at my door looking for a treat. The cat was unhappy, but didn’t run off. When the dog started to eat the cat food, he literally attacked the dog and scared him off the porch. He appears to be very protective of his food bowl. I was thinking of taking him to be neutered, but I am afraid he belongs to someone. Could someone give me good advice as how to proceed from here.
