I have a Norwegian (Noodle) and a short-haired Cow (Sauce.). They’re both indoor, but got worms a few months ago (after almost 3 years!) so we started Bravecto. This is their 2nd time. The last time, Noodle got a huge dreadlock in his mane. Somehow he knew that I was just trying to put a drop of stuff on his neck and made it very difficult, and it dripped off to the side. I had to cut it out and he had a funny little chunk missing that’s just starting to grow back. (Some of his fur is almost 6" long!)
This time, I managed to get it all on the back of his neck but he’s been scratching it all day so his undercoat is all floofed out and his outer coat is stiff. He’s also a VERY affectionate cat, and is sad and confused as to why we’re not petting him today. I anticipate another dreadlock just because of his constant scratching. He’s sulking and staring at me right now.
Sauce is standoffish, so he’s not as disturbed by the lack of pets.
Just wondered if anyone else with a super-floof breed has had this issue with topical flea/worm treatment or if I just have a special lil’ guy. Thank you!
