Sharon Osbourne has proclaimed herself a big fan of an AI-generated song performed by a fictitious rapper linked to a far-right political party.
The widow of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and former judge of TV talent shows The X Factor and Americaās Got Talent commented, āLove love this songā on an Instagram post of the song This Is England ā AI-generated slop by an artist called Danny Bones, who doesnāt really exist.
Bones is a creation by the Node Project, a shadowy creative agency that has used the Bones character to intervene in politics ā including in the Gorton and Denton by-election, where the Greens ended up beating Reform into second place.
In March Novara Media and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism revealed links between the Node Project and Ben Habibās Advance UK ā a far-right party that emerged from Habibās split from Reform UK. At the time, Bonesā content had racked up nearly three million views across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
The AI music video clip for This is England that Osbourne commented on features Bones walking along a high street with people of varying ethnicities, strung with flags from Pakistan, Ghana, Palestine, Nigeria and a confused, AI slop version of South Africa, while he sings: āI hate to confess that Iām seeing pride dying.ā Bones then begins to lead a crowd of white men carrying St Georgeās crosses with their fists in the air.
Elsewhere in the full song, Bones bemoans that ābenefits are rampant, the borders are openingā. Bonesā videos often feature nationalist imagery and civil unrest against a backdrop of a crumbling Britain featuring boarded up shops, young black men with their hoods up and a statue of Winston Churchill spraypainted red.
In another, he goes on a rampage through a dystopian Britain with an assault rifle, before sharing a kiss with the ācute goth girlā character called Amelia ā once a Home Office anti-radicalisation character who has been co-opted by the far-right and now added into the Danny Bones extended universe. His most recent video is a āmemoirā of an imagined UK civil war between āPatriotsā and the āIslamist Frontā, entering its fourth year in 2029.
Osbourne has courted controversy in recent months by appearing to support far-right political figures and causes.
On 14 April she responded to a video of former EDL leader Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (better known as Tommy Robinson) promoting this yearās Unite the Kingdom rally, via ācitizen journalismā account Gauci Reports.
Last yearās event drew between 100,000 and 150,000 people to London to hear far-right influencers and anti-Islam politicians from around the world speak. Attendees carried union jacks, St Georgeās flags, Israeli flags and oversized crosses, with some dressed as mediaeval crusaders, while others shouted far-right slogans or chanted āNFā [National Front].
Osbourneās official account posted āsee you at the marchā under the Instagram video of Yaxley-Lennon.
In response, homelessness charity Centrepoint said it would cut ties with Osbourne after recently engaging her as an ambassador for one of their campaigns. Centrepoint said of the Unite the Kingdom march, āThis sort of event does not align with our values.ā
The Gauci Reports account replied āYes Sharonā and even published a separate post celebrating her support, with the caption: āCONFIRMED: SHARON OSBOURNE āSee you at the marchā. The Queen of Rock replied to my Instagram post yesterday. After years of watching Britain change, especially her home town of Birmingham, sheās standing up!ā
Danny Bones has endorsed the upcoming Unite the Kingdom event, encouraging people to join the āpatriotic gatheringā to āmake the numbers undeniableā in another AI video.
Both of the controversial comments from Osbourneās Instagram account remain live and have not been deleted.
While Osbourneās support for a Tommy Robinson event and far-right linked AI musician may seem surprising for a mainstream talent contest judge and reality TV star, Osbourneās career has been peppered with controversy.
Perhaps most famously, she left US chat show The Talk in 2021 after an on-air row with co-host Sheryl Underwood, who accused Osbourne of giving āvalidationā to āracistā views when she defended Piers Morgan over his comments about Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, saying, āPeople forget that youāre paid for your opinion and that youāre just speaking your truth.ā
Osbourne has also been an outspoken defender of the state of Israel during its genocide in Gaza, even suggesting that Palestinian men are facilitating the starvation of women and children in the besieged enclave to gain global sympathy.
Osbourne also called for Irish rap trio Kneecapās US visas to be revoked over their 2025 Coachella performance, claiming their set included āprojections of anti-Israel messages and hate speechā.
In 2024, Osbourne signed a letter calling for Israel to be allowed to perform in Eurovision, along with Boy George and Gene Simmons, following calls for Israel to be banned from the competition over its genocidal campaign in Gaza.
The following year, along with 1,200 entertainment industry names, she signed an open letter coordinated by pro-Israel organisation Creative Community for Peace, denouncing calls for Israel to be boycotted from film institutions. The letter claimed that 4,000 artists who signed a boycott pledge had been āmisled into amplifying antisemitic propagandaā.
In 2018, Osbourne said of her husband playing in Israel: āListen, Iām half a heeb [A slang term for a Jew]. We play where we wanna play.ā
Osbourneās support appears not to have gone unnoticed by the Norse Project. In a recent Danny Bonesās video, an Ozzy Osbourne poster can be seen on the wall of his bedroom.
Osbourneās publicist and agent have been approached for comment.
