Shopping visits to Costco warehouses ticked up by more than 18% from the first quarter of 2019 to 2026 as US consumers have turned to the club for relief from rising prices (and the occasional free sample).

My rule for shopping: park as far away as I can
The higher tier membership allows allows for 30 minutes or 1 hour earlier entry into the stores. We got that membership for other reasons and I never saw myself using it, but we have a number of times to get in and out quickly.
By comparison, store traffic trends at Walmart and Target are mostly flat over the same period.
Walmart has a strong delivery push, and while Costco has delivery it’s not like I’m having rotisserie chickens delivered.
Plus their website doesn’t have everything the store does, and delivery costs more.
