Hello everyone, I honestly didn’t expect to come back with another update so soon but things have become more serious with my health.

I recently went back to the doctor and had more tests done. The results showed that my platelets and white blood cells are extremely low and both I and the doctor are very worried. I’ve now been referred to the hematology department in Toronto for urgent follow up care.

The doctor instructed me to avoid contact with people as much as possible and to be very careful not to get any cuts or injuries because of the risk of bleeding. Hearing that honestly scared me a lot.

I really thought things would finally get better after being resettled in Canada. I never imagined I would find myself asking for help again but honestly you have become the only support system I have right now. This no longer feels like simply reaching out, it feels like I’m running toward help because I’m overwhelmed. I’m really, really tired

I’m still a newcomer trying to adjust to life here. I don’t have a job yet and that hurts me too but I’m trying my best to apply, volunteer and get the certificates needed to work in Canada because one day I truly want to give back to the community. That’s one of my dreams ever since I stepped here.

Right now I’m struggling with medication, transportation for appointments, food, my sisters back in the horrible South Sudan and my mental health. I’m also constantly worried about my sisters back in South Sudan who still depend on me emotionally.

If anyone is able to help in any way, I would deeply appreciate it.
