A small flaw in Android 16's networking stack let ordinary apps leak data outside the VPN tunnel, exposing real IP addresses

Fwiw when I switched the only thing that stopped working (with sandboxed google play services) was my govt weather app, and my Medicare app (but web browser access works fine…)

Android auto works fine on grapheme today. However they (google) are pushing some update soon and it keeps warning me it’ll stop working without the google update. I isolate it in its own profile for car.

That’s fairly normal, the GrapheneOS team will eventually release the update via the app store. I’ve seen it a few times since using graphene and its never got to the point of actually not working.

I haven’t tried the update yet and probably won’t until things stop working since I (a) don’t see why I would need an update when the things I use are all offline apps, and (b) I don’t trust google.

Random detail on android auto that screwed me up for ages.

When the car asks for a numeric code only when your phone is attached, the phone wants you to enter your unlock code.
